3 BODY QIGONG FOR LATE SUMMER —-> CLASS DESCRIPTION
As summer transitions into late summer, we continue our seasonal practice of TCM's 5-element theory. This season, we will work with the element of EARTH and the organs associated with it: the SPLEEN and STOMACH. Our stomach and spleen make up our digestive system, ingesting, breaking down food, and transporting nutrients to the body. To keep this process balanced and operating well, we will add new movements in our 7-week session to help facilitate the flow of energy in our stomach and spleen meridian channels. We will also add our usual movements to offer a fully balanced “PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE” practice.
3 BODY QIGONG FOR LATE SUMMER —-> INSTRUCTIONAL CLASS DESCRIPTION
To begin this session, I will offer a lecture/practice class to provide context for why we do the movements we do and how they relate to balancing the energy in your body. We will spend time learning and practicing the new movements for this weekly session as well as fine-tuning the basic movements we do each class. We will begin by learning more about the 5 elements and seasonal practice, as well as the organs (spleen & stomach) and energy channels we'll focus on. I will also share tips on how to navigate this season through diet and lifestyle to keep you happy and healthy.

Stress has become an epidemic in our culture. Experiencing constant stress has been proven to cause physical and emotional illness as well as a more negative worldview. In this workshop, we will explore where your stress is coming from, how it is affecting you as well as others, how to become aware of the stress you hold, and how to release it. Through lecture and relaxation techniques centered on meditation and movement, you can begin to release your stress and shift your focus inward to a more peaceful and joyous place. Leave with tools to continue your practice at home. Please bring a water bottle, a pen and paper.
